Tunesday Tuesday- Kesha’s Legal Battle: “More than Meets the Eye”

Happy Tuesday! This Tunesday Tuesday we continue our previous discussion on Kesha’s ongoing legal battle with her producer, Dr. Luke. We continue to follow the case not only because it is a strong example of the importance of contract negotiations, but because it also brings much light to the fact that those in music — and entertainment industry in general — shouldn’t be afraid to fight for their human dignity and basic human rights.
To recap, a judge in New York denied Kesha’s request to be released from her contractual obligation with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records a few weeks ago. Kesha’s case has been in the spotlight ever since and the latest updates inform us that although the pop singer lost an initial request last month to be freed from her contract with hitmaker Dr. Luke, supporters of the “Tik Tok” singer and numerous other singers and celebrities have voiced their support to her, including Lady Gaga, Adele and Taylor Swift, who gave $250,000 for her legal fees.
We’re thankful that Kesha now has lawyers to protect her rights as she speaks out against any injustices she has experienced!
See here as Kesha thanks supporters in Human Rights Campaign Speech.
