“There’s something that you all need to understand,” Madonna said during her Las Vegas concert, while perched atop a piano, legs swinging. “And that is, that a queen is never late.”
A recent Madonna concert-goer in Florida is suing the megastar and Live Nation over the change in the start time of the concert after he spent over $1000 on three tickets. He alleges that Live Nation knew that Madonna regularly starts concerts hours late, and it therefore knowingly sold tickets based on an incorrect start time.
“He alleges that the change in start times for her Madame X Tour is a breach of contract made between the singer and the ticket buyer.” And that he and others “suffered actual and consequential damages including, but not limited to, loss of consideration paid and the devaluation of the ticket.”
The concert had an 8:30 p.m. start time, but later Live Nation changed that time to 10:30 p.m. The concert-goer tried to get refunded after the change but was denied by Live Nation. He further explains that he was faced with an “extreme loss of value because of the time change” when he tried to resell the ticket.
