Music Mondays – Cardi B sued by ex-manager for $10 million

Cardi B’s former manager is suing her for $10 million.

The rep, known as Shaft, says that he discovered Cardi B and turned her into the pop culture juggernaut that she has become.

Now he says he’s been sidelined and left out of her phenomenal success.

Shaft filed a federal lawsuit against the “Get Up 10” rapper on Thursday, we’re told.

Sources familiar with the situation say that Cardi B sought out Shaft’s help and that he took care of her career, “as if she were his daughter.” They claim he orchestrated the production of her mega hit “Bodak Yellow.”

They had been working together since 2015.

A spokesperson for Shaft told Page Six in a statement, “Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims.”
