Sin City Writer Frank Miller Settles Lawsuit with Former Manager

Frank Miller and his former manager settled the manager’s lawsuit that alleged the graphic novelist and screenwriter owed him at least $1 million in commissions for several movie projects, including films in the “300” and “Sin City” franchises.Mark Lichtman sued Miller in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 19. Attorneys told Judge Stephanie Bowick on Tuesday that the case was resolved. No terms were divulged. Lichtman has been a business manager in the entertainment and publishing industries for more than 60 years, his suit states.According to Lichtman, he was entitled to 10 percent of all revenue Miller made in the entertainment industry, including Miller’s interests in the “Sin City” graphic novels, the “300” feature film, and its sequel “300 Rise of the Empire,” the movie and graphic novel “The Spirit,” a “Sin City” television series and other properties. The suit stated that Lichtman represented Miller for three decades and earned more than $15 million in revenue for the writer.Lichtman alleged that he tried to approach Miller at a “Sin City 2” premiere, but that film producer Silenn Thomas, also a defendant in Lichtman’s suit, made false statements to The Weinstein Group that suggested the writer would not welcome him at the event.– Excerpt from article written by Christina Kelly for MynewsLA.com.
